Professor Lyndal Trevena

 

Prof Trevena is Professor of Primary Health Care and Head of the Discipline of General Practice at the University of Sydney. She commenced her academic career in 2001, after 15 years exclusively in clinical practice. She completed her PhD in 2006 and her research focuses on the application and implementation of research evidence in general practice. She teaches within the Sydney Medical Program and the Masters of International Public Health. Clinically active throughout her career, she currently provides pro bono clinical care to asylum seekers in Sydney.

Professor Paul Glasziou

 

Graduating in Medicine in 1978, and PhD in 1984, Prof Glasziou held academic posts at University of Sydney then Queensland. From 2003-2010, he was Director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine and Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine, University of Oxford. He is the recipient of an NHRMC Australia Fellowship, which he commenced in July 2010 as the founding Director, Centre for Research in Evidence-Based Practice, Bond University.

Associate Professor Tammy Hoffmann

 

A/Prof Hoffmann is a mid-career researcher (8 years post-PhD) and was a teaching and research academic at the University of Queensland from 2003-2011. She commenced as A/Prof of Clinical Epidemiology in the Centre for Research in Evidence-Based Practice at Bond University in 2011 and a NHMRC Career Development Fellow in 2012.

TTRUE Centre for Research Excellence

The TTRUE GP Network is part of a NHMRC funded Centre for Research Excellence called "Testing, Translation and Uptake of Evidence in General Practice: A systems approach to rapid translation".

 

The TTRUE Centre for Research Excellence is a collaboration between Bond University and The University of Sydney, led by internationally renowned academics across the fields of general practice, evidence-based medicine, shared decision making, guideline development and knowledge translation. Professor Kirsten McCaffery

 

Prof McCaffery is a Professorial Research Fellow at the School of Public Health and currently holds an NHMRC Career Development Fellowship. She has honorary titles at University College London and the School of Psychology, University of Sydney. She has published extensively in the area of shared decision making and developed and evaluated decision aids in the areas of breast, bowel and cervical cancer screening, HRT, childbirth, and HPV vaccination among others. Prof McCaffery seeks to apply rigorous research methods to clinically significant research problems to improve psychosocial outcomes, health literacy and health decision making in Australia and internationally.
